Cementing the future
Last week, the team in Hong Kong assisted on the discharge midstream and delivery to site of a large consignment of cement pipes by way of a geared coastal vessel. The operation for the shipment was conducted smoothly and cargoes are meantime in the process of being used for the water cooling tunnels we reported on earlier (water cooling tunnels for Hong Kong).
Once assembled on site, the pipes will be part of a project that will prepare for the delivery of a new cooling water intake and discharge facility at a power station. The works will include a new pumping station, underground cooling water pipelines, a maintenance shaft and the construction of a turbine hall that will be used to house the power generation equipment and associated facilities.
