Cleaning the Air
The teams in China and Singapore successfully moved several oversized units skids with road transport heights well over six meter. Over the course of the previous months, the teams assisted the client with engineering of the skid design and strengthening for transport, as well as all the permit work to transport the units successfully from the workshop in China till the Refinery in Singapore.
The units are part of an upgrading project for a gasification facility that supports a new integrated refining complex. Once operational, the facilities will assist to convert fuel oil into higher-value lube base distillates to help meet stricter emissions rules for the shipping industry. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is introducing new rules on marine fuels from 2020, limiting the sulphur content to 0.5 percent from 3.5 percent, to curb pollution from ships.
