Greek Power

In a significant collaborative effort, our team in China played a crucial role in the coordination, storage, and loading of a substantial amount of machinery intended for a new power plant in Greece. For over a month, we meticulously organized the logistics required to transport these components to our warehouse, ensuring their safe storage in anticipation of the vessel’s arrival.
Upon the vessel’s arrival, our team executed the loading and securing of the cargo with precision, prioritizing safety and compliance with international shipping standards. This careful handling was essential for the successful transportation of equipment destined for a project poised to enhance Greece’s energy infrastructure.
The power plant represents a pivotal investment of €400 million, which commenced construction in February 2023. Designed to be a state-of-the-art facility, it will feature an advanced gas turbine and a steam turbine, with an impressive capacity for hydrogen combustion of up to 50%. This innovative design aligns with both national and European objectives for a gradual transition to green energy, making it a cornerstone of Greece’s strategy to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
The new power plant is not only vital for Greece’s energy needs but also serves as a strategic asset for the broader Balkan region. It will facilitate the export of electricity to neighbouring countries, particularly Bulgaria and North Macedonia, and extend its impact to Serbia. By contributing to regional energy stability and sustainability, this project underscores Greece’s commitment to becoming a leader in the transition to renewable energy sources.
