Mooring Nigeria
The team in the UK and Singapore shipped several units of Conventional Buoy Mooring systems before Christmas. The shipments were loaded to an awaiting barge at the shipper’s premises and transferred to Singapore for immediate over side loading to the oceangoing vessel bound for Nigeria. We ensured that the delicate cargo was handled according to the highest standards and secured safely onboard both vessels.
Once installed, the buoys are fixed to the seabed by means of mooring lines and marine anchors. The buoys provide the strong points to which the vessel’s on-board mooring lines can be attached when no quay sites are available. However, these special units are combined with a fluid transfer system that enables connection of (subsea) pipelines to the midship manifold of a conventional tanker.
