“Elfje” wins in Hong Kong!
As main sponsor, we can look back on a wonderful few days of exiting racing in cooperation with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and the Hong Kong Dragon Association. The 2015 Hong Kong Dragon Championship had 21 boats lined up for a three day regatta (January 21st till 23rd) at Middle Island, including 4 international teams from Holland, Singapore, Japan and France. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club kindly providing an awesome race committee for handling blustery conditions, weather with the coldest temperatures Hong Kong saw in 60 years and very heavy winds.
The Hong Kong National Championships finished after 3 days, with 2 days of racing followed by too much wind yesterday. From the get go; the racing and weather was demanding on both helms and crews and guaranteed plenty of action. The winning boat was a visiting team from the Netherlands, NED 373 “Elfje” a Doomernik Dragon helmed by Ronald Pfeiffer, crewed by Boris Bayer and Boat Builder Joop Doomernik. Finishing 2nd overall and also taking the top “Corinthian Trophy” was HKG 46 helmed by the “Legendary” Lowell Chang … The final spot on the podium was for the young National Champions from Japan in JPN 52, helmed by Akira Sawada.
